Rod Cross is a Professor of Economics. A graduate of the London School of Economics and the University of York, he was previously a researcher at the University of Manchester, and a Lecturer at Queen Mary College, University of London, and at the University of St Andrews. He has published in leading journals on the subjects of unemployment, methodology, tax evasion and hysteresis in economic systems; and published one book on macroeconomic policy in the UK, and edited three on unemployment and inflation. His main current research interests are in modelling hysteresis in economic systems, the theory appraisal problem in Economics, and in the macroeconomics of transition in Poland. Recent involvements include the International Centre for Macroeconomic Modelling, based at Strathclyde, a consultancy post with the Polish National Bank and HM Treasury Academic Panel

Current research interests

Interests have included inflation, history of economic thought, tax evasion, economic methodology, unemployment, systems with hysteresis, and economic transformation in Central and Eastern Europe. The main current research interests are in economic systems with hysteresis, methodology, and modelling aspects of economic transformation in Central Europe.
