Catia is currently Head of Department and a Reader in the Department of Economic Studies at the University of Dundee. She joined the department in 1991, having previously been a Research Officer at the University of Glasgow. She has a Laurea in Economics (summa cum laude Parma, Italy, 1987), an M.Phil in Economics (Glasgow, 1989) and a Ph.D. in Economics (Dundee, 1995).

International trade theory and policy; Industrial location and Foreign Direct Investment, Labour standards, trade and FDI; Globalisation and the welfare state
