Matt is the Director of the Behaviour, Performance & the Organisation of Care Programme. He holds a degree in Economics with Econometrics from the University of Leeds, and an MSc in Health Economics and PhD in Economics from the University of York. He worked from 1991 at the Centre for Health Economics at the University of York before taking up a secondment at the Scottish Executive in 1999. Prior to joining HERU in December 2004, he worked in General Practice & Primary Care at the University of Glasgow with a part-time secondment to the Information Services Division of NHS National Health Services Scotland, which is ongoing. Matt's research interests are in applied microeconometrics, health inequalities, and equity and efficiency in health care.
